Mother Daughter Bonding on the Slopes

She first got on a board at 4. I gave her the choice of skiing or boarding. I ski, so I tried that, and also had an old board in the car. She was hysterical on skis, and couldn’t handle it. We walked back to the car defeated and said, “Mama I want to board!” We went back up, exhausted. She strapped on the board and was able to go a couple hundred feet intuitively on her first run. She had one lesson from a friend who was amazing, was putty in his hands. Her second season she did pipes, some small jumps, and hit her first double blacks. I got her a few lessons then that only made the process more shocking.
